Hole in the Head has been recording their debut album this summer at Tomi Leino’s Suprovox Studio in Karkkila, Finland. Tomi recorded all 13 songs and gave some opinions and tips to the band who produced the songs themselves. The Studio is located about 60 km from Helsinki. The band lived in a little cottage near the studio. The first studio days were sunny and the scenery and weather were 100% perfect to start jamming a country song "Before closing time". A hit song! The songs were recorded during two hot weekends (May 24-27th and June 15-17th) Session one was about playing every song live. Drums and bass sounded awesome right away. The most of the final guitar takes were also recorded at the same weekend. Session two consisted of recording the rest of acoustic and electric guitars, harmonica, saxophone, percussions, vocals and backing vocals. Mixing will begin in November 2012. The album will contain some weird country, some nasty rockabilly, and some kick ass rock n’ roll. The band wants to thank mr. Leino for his amazing knowledge and his talent of recording this kind of music in his vintage studio. There has been a long break from playing live gigs. Hopefully we are soon on the road again and have our music and other stuff available! We are looking for a good record company and a booking agent to promote us. At the moment Hole in the Head is going through line up changes. Our drummer G. Krupa s.r who played in Hole in the Head for 10 years left the band after the studio sessions. Frank Urban (saxophone) hasn’t been in the band for over a year. For the album we had Brother Andy playing both harmonica and saxophones and he did also the backing vocals. Now Sasse, Andy and Turkka are making plans for the future. Currently we are looking for a new drummer. Since summer 2012 Sasse & Andy have been playing a lot of duo gigs together. They have played mainly folk, country, blues and rock n´roll songs and also some Hole in the Head songs. Check out their Facebook group. Stay tuned on the H.I.T.H. website. Organ and saxophone player Frank Urban (Aavikko, Astro can Caravan) joins the group and plays few gigs with the band. Frank seems to be an unofficial member of the band.
