Hole in the Head has been around the corners of Kuopio since 1997. From the beginning H.I.T.H´s music has taken steps from a mixture of garage-punk and rockabilly to their own, low tuned, fast and hard rocking boogie. Hole in the Head has never been into “cool” trends and styling things but has always been influenced by good music..You may hear influences from rootsy rock n´roll, blues, rockabilly, punk and even from surf. Musical developement has been natural: First years were full of spontaneous rehearsing and concerts at their hometown, Kuopio. Then came the idea of making 7”-ep´s and playing gigs outside hometown.
Hole in the Head has been going through changes also with the line up. New drummer (since 2002) has given more possibilities to songwriting and additional tenor saxophone player (since 2003) has replaced the other guitar. Hole in the Head has always been an underground band but has received some fame and awesome feedback from different magazines around the world. There has been international radio playing on indie shows too. Next goal is to record a full length album.
The band has finally found it´s musical style after a hell of a long resourch work in the field of rock n´ roll which means years of hard work, line up changes, broken hearts, dementia, old vinyl LP`s, gigs, beer, blues, rockabilly, good people, bad people, crazy people, frustration, studying, working, partying, and not earning money. So, while reading this you may wonder why doing this kind of a thing for free in any case?…if you don´t get it, you´re on the wrong pages, get the heck of here!!! Our mission is to offer fresh and original 100% Hole in the Head music to our listeners.

Tomi Kosonen / Frank Urban: tenor saxophone
Tomi is known as multi musician: he has played many instruments from guitar to bass and from organ to tenor saxophone. Tomi is known from his electronic organ-oriented band called Aavikko.
